Miss Vickie’s Smokehouse BBQ (from tevin)

Chipchip everybody,

Recently I spent a weekend in Rochester, NY and a trip to Rochester is never complete without a stop in at DiBella’s for one of their famous submarine sandwiches. Needless to say, I got two. But seeing as this is Chip Chat and not Sandwich Talk, I will keep my praises of this heavenly place to a minimum. However, as I’m sure you are all aware, the chip is just the perfect accompaniment to any delicious bread & luncheon meat combination. Basically, if a steak were a sandwich, the chips would be the red wine. Enter Miss Vickie’s Smokehouse BBQ stage left.

Now, I’ve always been a fan of Miss Vickie’s crunchy goodness, but I’ve rarely strayed from their Hand-Picked Jalapeno flavor. Boy, was I in for a pleasant chipprise. Yes, that is the word “chip” and the word “surprise” fucking.

I was about a quarter of my way through sandwichland when I decided that it was chip o’clock. Pulling open the bag was like opening a door to my past. You see, I wasn’t always a chip expert. There was a time when I slung smoked meats at one of NYC’s finest BBQ outfits and that’s where I was transported to upon first smell. I could not wait a moment longer to dig in. So I did.

At initial crunch, I was hooked. The smokey barbecue flavor and the intense kettle-cooked smashing noise with every bite was almost too much to handle. Luckily, I’ve been trained in ways of the Chip Force (something Yoda didn’t know shit about) and was able to maintain consciousness. The wonderful balance of tomato, onion and garlic flavoring was enough to make me sure that this chip was definitely checked out by the flavor expert. However there was a taste that was new to me. Something I had never had in a chip before. Thus, I took a gander at the ingredients. Sure enough, standing firm and proudly, at the end of the list was caramel powder. This blew my mind.

Sadly, as it always does, the time had come for me to eat the last chipper, wash it away with my Dr. Pepper beverage and say goodbye to my newfound friend. The delicious all natural slow kettle cooked goodness that is Miss Vickie’s Smokehouse BBQ had left me satisfied and smiling. I strongly recommend diving head first into a bag of these at the earliest chance you get.

To conclude, sailors would definitely fight in the dance hall over a bag of this simply perfect creation.

Chips,

Tevin.
